Get the Right WildStar Guide for Your Stalker

Standard

With all of the WildStar guides out there claiming to help you level quickly, it can be a task in and of itself sorting through the reviews to determine the best. After taking this quest upon myself, I have ranked the top two guides for your perusal. Each one underwent testing based on its level of detail, currency, advanced strategies, newbie-friendliness, cost, and layout. From beginning game to end game, these guides save you the hassle of the back and forth of grinding as well as the hours of research needed to figure out what your end game build should be.

Unofficial WildStar Leveling Guide by KillerGuideswildstar leveling guide cover from killerguides
Ranked number 1 for a reason, this all-in-one guide was written by top MMO experts and contains everything you need to know about the different facets of WildStar Online. Its leveling suggestions follow both the Exile and the Dominion, leading you toward the fastest route to reach level cap with detailed walkthrough. No matter what class you choose, the best builds are listed in detail. The only minor issue I had was the housing section was not as detailed as I had hoped.

Aside from personal builds, the guide walks you through every dungeon, giving you a look at the strategies necessary to down every mobs and bosses. At the low price of $35, it is a steal and will suffice the newest of new and the most veteran of veterans. The layout is an added bonus in that it is very easy to find your way around, so if you need to reference different items within one chapter, they are incredibly easy to find.

WildStar Leveling Guidewildstarguide-net cover
Written by one expert gamer, this second guide is not as thorough as the first one if only due to the limitations of one person writing an entire guide on an MMORPG. It provides an efficient leveling guide for both the Exiles and the Dominion as well as strong builds for all six classes. Though similar to the first, its guides regarding paths and crafting are phenomenal. The paths guide offers a various efficient leveling strategies for all four paths while the crafting section shows you what to get and where to find it, foregoing yet another grind.

A little pricier at $37, this WildStar guide is a strong source for more end game material and because of this, is less user friendly for casual players or newbies. Its format also leaves a bit to be desired as the leveling guide and build guide can get a little confusing through overlap of information.

Whether you’re looking for an all-around solid guide, a guide full of end game material, or a starting point, these guides could be a good choice for you. The first one from KillerGuides, in my opinion, is the best and most solid for every type of gamer wanting to approach the game from every different direction. However, the second one from wildstarguide.net also provide great detailed and accurate areas on game play. Each guide will also update as patches are released in order to ensure the information inside remains up to date.

A Gamer’s Take on Killer Guide’s Wildstar Online Leveling Guide

Standard

Gamers everywhere know that a good guide can be invaluable, but sometimes guides don’t always live up to the hype. Killer Guides has released their unofficial Wildstar Online Leveling Guide, and they make a lot of promises made like helping you level to 50 in 7 days as well as become one of the best at PVP.
Naturally, a guide that makes all these bold promises would make a gamer like me skeptical. I’ve made the mistake of buying guides that didn’t live up to the hype in the past and didn’t want to make the same mistake again. So I decided to do a little checking, and this review is to tell you what I found.

First Impressions
The first thing I found was that Killer Guides has a great reputation with other gamers, and since I’d never tried their guides before, I asked a friend for his take on their guides. He told me that the best part about their guides is that they’re written by gamers like you and I. It’s like having those gamers sitting beside you sharing their knowledge of what works best in Wildstar Online and what doesn’t while you’re playing. Ok, so far I was a little impressed.

Another thing that I noticed is that there is a lot of good information packed into those 80 pages. That same friend let me look through his as sort of a preview, and I found that they really do have everything covered when it comes to leveling a character in Wildstar Online.

wildstar leveling guide cover from killerguides

Leveling
Just like they promise, the guide gave me a lot of advice for leveling a character to 50 in 7 days, and the best part of it was that it didn’t matter what type of class or race I decided to play. The guide covers all of them and allows players insight into what actually helps level a character faster and what will slow it down. Think of it as taking the grinding part out of working your way up to the top levels, and getting the best gear for your class.

Newbie Friendly
I have to admit that when I first started playing Wildstar Online, I wasn’t sure about how of some of the game’s features worked. I’m certainly not a newbie when it comes to MMOs, but some of the features in the game were still new to me. However, this guide has a section that will walk you through every feature. That’s also one of the things that impressed me most about this leveling compendium.

Since it’s written by hardcore gamers, I expected it to be written specifically for the same kind of gamers. It’s not. It was written for players of all experience levels from newbie to hardcore, and breaks things down in a way that any gamer can understand. Personally, I would have like a few more pictures in the guide to help explain some of the advice, but the guide works just as well without them.

PVP
There are few things more satisfying than beating another player or group of players, and this guide has some great advice that helped me do that. It goes pretty in-depth into all the aspects of PVP including how to get my win ratio higher. The tips offer advice on what gear to look for at key levels as well as the best ways to time different attacks. I even found tips for ways to get though even the worst class match-ups.

Housing
Sometimes every gamer just needs a little downtime and a place to call their own in the game, and I was a little surprised to find a section on housing in a leveling guide. That surprise turned into admiration when I started going through the section, and found that they explain everything from the housing interface to what items are worth buying, or how to push the housing boundaries. It’s all explained in such a way that I can let my creativity run away with me and have the kind of gamer’s home I can be proud to call mine.

Final Thoughts
In case you were wondering, I did take the plunge and bought my own guide. With a 60-day money back guarantee and free updates, I figured it was worth the investment especially since the guide had already impressed me. I had already been playing the game for a while when I learned about this guide, and I’m glad I found it. My gaming experience in Wildstar Online has gotten even better, and while I may not be rushing to hit level 50, I’m having a great time along the way.

If you’re playing Wildstar Online and want to get the most out of your playing time, I definitely believe this book here is worth checking out. Like my friend pointed out, it really is like having a group of experienced gamers there in the room with you, offering friendly advice on the best ways to level, while you’re playing.

Nano Skin for the WildStar Stalker Explained

Standard

For something more in-depth on the WildStar Stalker than the article below, I strongly recommend getting this wildstar manual. So far, it is the best leveling guide and walkthrough I have found. This saved me from researching by myself and thus giving me more time for gaming.

stalker on stealth using nano skinAdventurers on Nexus should watch their backs – the Stalker is waiting in ambush! The Stalker class is Wildstar’s stealth melee DPS class. Though most MMORPGs have some variant of a stealth class, the fast-paced combat of Wildstar and the class’s versatility make the Stalker a unique addition. Nano Skin is the in-game technology that gives the stalker his ability to hide in plain sight. The Stalker receives his abilities from its three Nano Skin stances. These different stances allow the Stalker to DPS and even tank all with medium armor. Here is what players need to know about Nano Skin.

Nano Skin: Agile is a hybrid stance, giving the player much utility. A key feature of this Nano Skin is the increase in speed it allows. The Agile stance increases movement speed for breaking stealth in combat, which is a great tactical advantage in the game’s fluid combat system. The stalker build also increases regeneration of Dash, as well as lacking a stealth movement speed debuff. These buffs to speed let you connect with or run from your opponent as needed in the fight and work well in leveling. Overall, Nano Skin: Agile is a very versatile stance for the unique Wildstar combat system. This is the first Nano Skin unlocked.

Nano Skin: Lethal is the heavy hitter of the stances, the most archetypical stealth class stance. This Nano Skin increases all damage by 22% while decreasing all resistances by 5%. The stealth ability comes with a 20% movement speed debuff. However, Lethal also has the awesome bonus of a 100% chance to land a critical with attacks from stealth. This is the Nano Skin for getting in, raining damage, and bringing targets down quickly. This is the second Nano Skin unlocked.

Nano Skin: Evasive is the most interesting of the three. This stance allows this medium armor class to tank the toughest of bosses. Rather than soaking up damage like a traditional tank, this Nano Skin increases stats that make you avoid the damage, all while maintaining threat. This stance increases all resistances by 10%, threat generation by 150%, and deflect chance by 15%. Though the stance reduces Assault Power by 26% and (like Lethal) slows stealth movement speed by 20%, attacking from stealth increases all resistances by 7% for 6 seconds, which is very handy for tough bosses. This is the final Nano Skin unlocked.

Nano Skins are powered by a resource called Suit Power which caps at 100 and can regenerate. By level 15, all three Nano Skins will be unlocked. A useful tip is to use Nano Skin: Agile for travel in PvE and then switch to Nano Skin: Lethal or Nano Skin: Evasive before stealthing and attacking. Nano Skin can be changed during combat, but doing so causes Suit Power to drop to 0, so be careful. All three of these Stalker stances bring something useful to the table for varied playstyles. Whether you want to tank or DPS, Wildstar’s Stalker can handle it with brutal efficiency.

AMP Guide to the WildStar Online Stalker Class

Standard

Article below only discusses some portion of the stalker in Wildstar Online. A more extensive discussion can be found in this digital book here. It was put together by pro players and serves as a game walkthrough and leveling guide that aims to help players creating a strong character and reaching level cap within a week. I would recommend you getting a copy for yourself.

Stalkers have two main roles for PVE in Wildstar: Tank and DPS. This AMP Guide explores a DPS build, which creates synergies with Critical Hit, Stealth, and Positional attacks. Although the full value of Strikethrough and Armor Pierce aren’t known, I imagine they’ll be vital enough to buy. Therefore, this Stalker AMP Guide puts points into first tier AMPs to buff Strikethrough but no further, as most raids will have an Esper class debuffing the boss’s deflection.

warrior and stalker

Wildstar’s AMP system, like talents in other games, is a combination of flexibility and rigidity. Early tiers have limited choices and won’t vary much between builds. DPS Stalkers will fill all ranks in the first Assault tier, increasing Critical Hit, Assault Power, and Critical Severity. Higher tiered Assault and Hybrid AMPs have greater impact on our DPS.

In the second Assault tier, I selected Killer Instinct, Onslaught and Brutality Master. The first two exploit Critical Hit and the Stalker’s ability to stay behind the target, empowering him/her with Critical Hit and Assault Power resulting in faster grinding and better leveling. These are solid choices, but Brutality Master is only as good as one’s brutality stat. It could be replaced with Devastate, essentially an “execute” ability and may be necessary for bosses with enrage mechanics. In the final Assault tier, only Fatal Wounds, which creates synergies with Critical Hit AMPs and stats, is worth the six points. Neither Clone nor Battle Mastery looked useful or reliable.

Assault/Utility and Assault/Support AMPs have interesting choices for Stalkers. I skipped PVP oriented AMPs, and I ignored Lifesteal; Stalkers have Cooldowns for taking damage. Within Assault/Utility, I chose Armor Pierce and Cuthroat. While it’s not settled how useful Armor Pierce will be at endgame, Cuthroat’s extra damage warrants the points required to unlock it.

In Assault/Support’s first tier, I took Strikethrough. It is likely the first stat DPSers cap, and investing here means not putting it on gear. In tier two, Unfair Advantage and Stealth Mastery ensure more, cheaper critical Impales. Finally, my last pick is Enabler, which adds efficiency to Stalker skill rotations.

In this AMP guide to the Stalker, I created a build that relies on positional attacks, exploits Critical Hits, and uses Stealth to increase efficiency and allow more frequent use of our primary nukes. While the base of the build will probably remain consistent from fight to fight, there’s flexibility in the higher AMP tiers to tailor the build to particular scenarios.

Stalker DPS Build: Skills You Should Use

Standard

For something more in-depth on the WildStar Stalker than the article below, I strongly recommend getting this guide walkthrough. So far, it is the best leveling guide and walkthrough I have found. This saved me from researching by myself and thus giving me more time for gaming.

The stalker class in WildStar make you feel like a ninja as it can use a combination of stealth, fast moving tactics, and hard hitting damage to mow over the enemies. It is easy for the Stalker to slay an enemy within a second. What you need to do is executing skills that could coordinate well with stealth. The key to dps stalker is to sneak up and perform a surprise attack. Below are skills that the DPS stalker should consider.

wildstar online stalker

Assault Skills:

Shred is an awesome ability that will deal damage three times up to five enemies. Yes that is right, you can triple your damage in one fell swoop.

Do you have a Tech enemy though? Then Ruin is the skill that you should use. It deals tech damage over time, up to five enemies for up to five seconds.

Now one skill that you can use for the wildstar stalker class build and it will not even break your stealth. Analyze Weakness will allow you to mark up to fifteen enemies and deal extra damage when those enemies are attacked.

Phlebotomize is another great skill you can use that will not compromise your stealth. It will deal damage to your enemy while lowering his healing efficiency by up to 50%.

Utility Skills:

Tactical Retreat is a great skill that utilizes stalker’s stealth abilities. You perform a backflip and activate stealth mode. This can put you back into a tactical advantage against your foes.

The next skill is Blood thirst. You steal half of the damage you deal and gain it back as stealth. You can utilize this with some of the others and be gaining health while dealing damage. Time your attacks right and you can wreak havoc on your enemies.

Preparation is another great skill. It allows you to recharge your suit power over time. It goes further and gives you a defense and health buff. What can be better than preparing for your next attack while preparing for your opponents next attack.

Speaking of buffs, the Stim Drone can be summoned to heal the player while also buffing your overall health.

These are just some of the skills that you can use being a dps stalker. However, the best way to maximise dps stalker is to execute skills at the right place and right time. This is what you need to practice it yourself.

First Step to WildStar Stalker Leveling

Standard

When it comes to stealth, slashing and slicing, no class in WildStar does all those things at the same time quite like the Stalker. Stalkers are melee assassins who use medium armor, a special nano-powered suit that protects them and lets them utilize stealth and dual claw weapons to slice their enemies into tiny bits and make any battlefield their playground. Stalkers can either be damage dealers or tanks. They also get a wide array of bombs and drones to aid them in critical moments and apply a bit of crowd control where it hurts.

For leveling, utilizing a pure Stalker DPS build is most likely recommended. Tanking Stalkers will be able to level efficiently, especially while running dungeons, but a solid DPS build will help you power through questing and all PvE content the quickest.

When deciding between which skills to take in your leveling build, make sure to keep both pure DPS and utility in mind. Stealth is an important part of all Stalker builds, but how much you use stealth may depend on your build and particular playstyle. Stealth builds do extremely well while soloing, however, especially since you can use stealth to skirt around the edges of a densely-packed area, pick and choose your battles with ease and use it to escape certain death.

stalker slashing

When using a stealth dps build, make sure to pair it with abilities like Concealed Slash and Partial Camouflage. This setup will allow you to strike from stealth and deal large amounts of extra damage upon coming out of stealth.

For Stalkers who prefer action that’s a little more direct and non-stealthy, you should pick abilities like Pounce and Onslaught. Use Pounce to open up combat and follow through with Staggering Strike, Raging Strike and Tactical Strike. Onslaught is your main DPS cooldown that should be used when extra damage is needed.

When exploring the leveling zones, make sure to explore areas thoroughly for random quests and bonus events, vendors and path objectives. As a Stalker you’ll be able to explore areas easier than many other classes as seen in http://www.wildstarclasses.com resulting in leveling a bit faster, so remember this when choosing a path.

Also be sure to pay attention to reputation vendors that are often found in major quest hubs. Each zone will generally have a certain faction tied to it which will allow you to gain reputation and purchase unique goods. You can find some excellent gear upgrades off these reputation vendors.

Does Choice of Path Affect Stalker Class Gameplay?

Standard

Article below only discusses some portion of the stalker in Wildstar Online. A more extensive discussion can be found in this digital book here. It was put together by pro players and serves as a game walkthrough and leveling guide that aims to help players creating a strong character and reaching level cap within a week. Stalkers are one of the trickiest classes in Wildstar to get right. Yes, you can be invisible and can pull off great assassinations. The array of sneaky weapons available as a Stalker includes stealth, holoprojection, martial art, poisons, quick kills, and much more. Many people wonder, however, if choosing a path will seriously affect the game play style of the Stalker.

It really depends on the path that you choose. The best fit for the Stalker is, naturally, the Soldier. Soldiers focus on fighting, conquering, and defeating enemies. The martial arts skills of the Stalker as well as its assassination skills make it perfect for this class.

In fact, one of the subset jobs for the Soldier is Assassination! Picking the Soldier path isn’t likely to seriously affect the way you play with the Stalker. However, there are three other paths to consider and these paths have the potential to change your game play style in big ways.

Does Choice of Path Affect Stalker Class Gameplay? The Explorer path has the potential to really change the game play style of the Stalker. It will completely pull away the Stalker focus on assassination, martial arts, and combat and force you into a whole new role that might not suit your previous gaming style. The nice thing about the Stalker is that its stealth abilities really play well into the Explorer class. You can sneak behind enemy lines and make claims to properties without them even knowing!

The Settler path may seem like an ill-fit for the Stalker, but it can work with careful adjustments in game play style. You’re going to focus more on building up towns, taking land, and expanding your influence. Your stealth works wonder in this role while your martial arts and fighting skills work well for civil defense. However, your work physical strength and poor building skills make the Settler a hard path to settle into for the Stalker.

Last, but not least, is the Scientist path. This path is perhaps the most difficult for the Stalker and is one that will change your game play the most. The jobs of analysis and mastering various scientific abilities does not suit any of the strengths of the Stalker. Although some players do enjoy a Stalker scientist, its perhaps best advised to stay away from this path. It will require too much stat building against the natural grain and abilities of the Stalker and can nearly ruin your game. It is in fact, more suitable to the Spellslinger class, of which is discussed on http://www.wildstarspellslinger.com

Playing a Stalker Tank in Wildstar Online

Standard

For something more in-depth on the WildStar Stalker than the article below, I strongly recommend getting this guide walkthrough. So far, it is the best leveling guide and walkthrough I have found. This saved me from researching by myself and thus giving me more time for gaming.

The Stalker is a truly unique class in the world of MMOs. It’s a stealth based class, which most seasoned MMO players would expect to be a standard damage dealer, but in WildStar, the Stalker can also be a highly effective tank. Those fancy claws you’re wearing? They’ve never been more fun.

Unlike other tanking classes which focus on damage mitigation, Stalkers focus on evasion– in other words, they won’t take as many hits as your bulky WildStar Warrior and the WildStar Engineer because they’re going to dodge most of them instead. Stalkers are somewhat prone to damage spikes because they’re wearing medium armor, so as a stalker tank, you’ll want to stay on your toes. Fortunately one of this class’s many tricks is access to self-heals to help offset this, and that’s just scratching the surface. If you’re looking for an unconventional tank with a unique playstyle (and some classy nanoarmor to top it off), then this might just be the class for you.

Let’s take a look at the sort of tools that a stalker tank would be using. We’ll start with the basics: a tanking stance. Stalkers come with three stances (or types of Nano Skin as the game calls them), and the evasive stance is the one you’ll be using as a tank. The evasive stance ups the Stalker’s damage deflection as well as threat generation to ensure that the enemy is attacking the Stalker, and not their party members, at all times. This stance also reduces the Stalker’s damage output a bit, but remember: as a tank, your job isn’t to dish it out, just to take it!

Once your Stalker is in evasive stance, you’ve got plenty of tools to make sure that the enemy remains focused on you. These include Whiplash, which increases threat as well as dealing damage, and Reaver, which taunts the enemy, forcing it to attack you and only you– useful for when you’ve got allies that the enemy wants to devour.

Things are starting to look dicey? Not a problem. Activate Nanofield, which heals you for 75% of the damage you deal. Still need a quick escape? False Retreat allows you to leap back out of the action for a while, and then jump right back to where you started when you’re ready.

Playing a Stalker Tank in Wildstar Online

With deadly claws, access to stealth, a Nanosuit, and all sorts of utility, Stalkers make for a refreshing and fascinating tank. Tired of hitting the same old things with the same old sword? Give a Stalker a try and make tanking fun again!

Gear for the Wildstar Online Stalker Class

Standard

Wildstar Online’s Stalker class has all the stealth of a ninja, and the melee damage capacity of an enraged honey badger. In order to make sure that the Stalker does the most damage possible, while avoiding taking as many hits as can be, it’s important to make sure that all the character’s gear is optimized and that they’re focused in the correct area.

A Bare Bones Itemization

As far as gear goes, Stalkers are very simple characters to play. The only weapons they use are their claws, and they’re capable of wearing medium armor. Getting the most protection is ideal, since Stalkers do all of their work up close and in melee, and any items that enhance the amount of damage or the percentage for critical hits will also be ideal. Beyond these simple needs though, the Stalker’s own nano suit and host of gadgets will allow players to hold their own.

Gear for the Wildstar Online Stalker Class

Skin and Bones

The Nano Suit that a Stalker wears, also called skin, provides them a great deal of abilities. While invisibility is one of the handier ones, it also makes them harder to hurt, boosts their health, and can turn them into super-powered killing machines for a short period of time. Timing is everything with the Nano Suit, as the abilities can drain power quickly and they aren’t meant for long-term engagements. Stalkers need to get in, hack and slash their enemies to ribbons, and then get out again before their suits run out of power.

Devices

The Stalker’s other ability is a host of devices that look and act like something out of Batman’s utility belt. Anchoring devices hold enemies in place, while others create a stunning effect or nets slow enemies to leave them open to have their flanks filleted into small, savory pieces. While these devices are useful for WildStar Stalker who want to keep their enemies in one place before they start cutting, they’re also extremely useful as a method of retreat because once the big bads run into them, the devices can buy the Stalker time to get away. This gives the Stalker time to heal up, refresh his or her power pool, and then sneak back to attack from a different direction while the enemy is alone and unsuspecting. It isn’t terribly honorable, but when it’s one Stalker against a horde of bad guys it’s important to use every, possible advantage to win.

Gameplay Guide for the Wildstar Stalker

It was put together by pro players and serves as a game walkthrough and leveling guide that aims to help players creating a strong character and reaching level cap within a week. Gameplay Guide for the Wildstar Stalker

The Stalker is a unique character class in Wildstar Online. The character does not have any ranged weapons, and instead focuses on the use of “claws”. These claws can be of varying lengths, and can have different effects. The character can be played similar to an assassin in other games, but does not have to be played in that manner. The Stalker is not fully comparable to another character class in another game, but does have some overlap in the job that the character can fill in a party. The two main jobs this character can fill in a party are damage dealer or tank.

The first way to build this class is to be a damage dealer because of its high damage per second (DPS) ratio in upper levels. This allows for him to be the primary damage dealer in a party. If you add back up support characters, such as the Medic class, which are increasing his ability and healing him, he can do a significant amount of damage and help a party achieve victory. The key to building a character in this way is to focus on damage dealing skills and abilities. Also, it is important to have a party where everyone understands the role that each person should be playing.

The second way to use this character is as a tank. A tank is the character that can inflict some damage, but his primary purpose is to absorb the enemies damage, so that those characters with high DPS can continue to attack the enemy. These characters are great at this because they deal with up close damage, and they can be built in such a way that they have quite of bit of HP and high defense skills. A character in this role will need support characters prolonging his life for as long as possible.

It may be possible to blend these two roles into one for solo play. This would allow for the character to do some questing by himself. The WildStar Stalker played in this way would be less effective in either role, but he would be more flexible over all. Playing the character in this third way would be more difficult and is probably a better idea for more experienced players. This class has a unique twist, and would be really fun to play. The flexibility of the class, which has been mentioned in wildstarclasses.com too, allows it to be used in the two ways mentioned above.
